This amazing house made of containers was designed by the Architect Adam Kalkin, and although it has a total cost above the average, its price per M2 is quite low, of only $ 125/ft2. This is thanks to its industrial design and the generous use of the shipping containers to win gross space.
This home has many useful spaces, besides the common ones as the living and the dining that you can see in the photo above, the multiple containers that are inside the house build the different departments, each with its own personality and use where you can get lost.
Although the design of the house is spectacular, there must be obvious problems to climatize it, the large windows, spaces, heights and its location in Maine, don’t make of it an ideal place to spend a winter, unless we don’t mind at all the electricity bill, very likely considering that this property is not available for any pocket.
A very interesting idea, which can help us inspire to use the containers as rooms, creating an outer skin to shelter them, or recycling an old department store.
