The Quick House (Quick House ) is a prefabricated house designed by the architect Adam Kalkin from recycled shipping containers . It has 3 bedrooms and 2 ½ bathrooms in its 185 M2 (2.000 ft2) plan . The entire complex can be mounted on a single day in the place that you choice , you will have an entire building immediately. All the building process shouldn’t take more than 3 months.
The Quick House can be delivered anywhere in the United States of America , 10 weeks after it’s ordered . During this time, we recommend you to obtain all the necessary permits for its construction and also build the foundations of the container home. From the moment that you order it until the moment that you move there and start living inside the container, you don’t have to wait more than 6 months.
It’s a container home and also sustainable house in a large part , because 75 % of their materials, mainly thanks to the use of recycled shipping containers for its construction. Also includes many other options to make the house greener: such as solar powered generators and wind turbines, a vegetation roof to reduce the environmental impact of the building and insulate better the roof, and a super insulation for the walls with the R-50 system .
The owner is responsible of part of the installation process which includes: preparing the ground and the foundations, make the roof finish , all the installations (suach as electricity, communications, gas and water if necessary), and finally the end of the façade, if these are necessary and the customer wants them ( this is not essential, it’s purely aesthetic ) .
The basic kit of the container Quick House is of 185M2 (2.000 ft2), but the company also offers other options of 90 M2 (1.000 ft2), 270 M2 (3.000 ft2) and 465 M2 (5,000 ft2) depending on the model. At the end it’s only based on the systematic collection of various shipping containers with the propper adaptation as a house, so the issue of space required is only limited by the number of containers that we use in the construction of the house.
