Librii is a creation of the architect David Dewane , developed by the company gensler, is a fully mobile digital library. The idea is based on the theory that the information is vital for the social mobility , and to let this information to reach anywhere Librii has been created, a lowcost solution to have access to the Internet in Africa.
To give you an idea, of the 1000 Million inhabitants of Africa , less than the 3 % have access to the Internet , a problem that comes from the poor infrastructures and the poverty .
Librii basically consists on a series of shipping containers prepared with some classrooms equipped with computers and Internet access , so the Librii project also encourages the use of the sustainable architecture and recycling.
Unlike a traditional library , which has thousands of expensive books that take up a lot of space , all the access to the literature at these libraries is digital.
The 2 containers are placed leaving a space between them fully covered and with free Wi- Fi access.
